Shhh! Wordless theater in Vordingborg

Usually you turn towards the great cities, when you want to catch what is hip right now. But important, cultural events also take place in other places. Every second year Vordingborg, 100 km south of Copenhagen, becomes an international forum for experimental theatre and art. Here artists from all over the world meet and show what happens within theatre, performance, dance and visual art today. Puppets on Sunday

This is one of the most fun to be events of the year in Bratislava. Every Sunday of July and August Bibiana, the International House of Art for Children, is presenting a festival that is designed for children and grownups who feel young in heart. The Bibiana festival already counts nine years since it was first organized. Now it has grown to be an international event focusing on marionettes and alternative theater.

An exciting new season at the Slovak National Theater

The excellent productions of opera, ballet and drama in Bratislava’s Slovak National Theatre have captivated not only the Slovak public but also the Viennese. It is no longer unusual to set out from Vienna to go to Bratislava and attend an opera. It takes about an hour to reach the Slovak National Theatre where people can enjoy performances of the highest quality at reasonable prices. In total, 71 productions go onstage during the 2009/10 season that closes in June.
