René Magritte’s playful photographs

Few know that Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte’s favorite hobby was photography. But unlike his contemporaries Man Ray or Paul Nougé, Magritte wasn’t interested in exploring photography as an art. His relation with it was rather spontaneous and playful. Therefore, the photographs taken by Magritte and presented in the exhibition La fidélité des images at the National Museum of Art of Romania (MNAR) until July 19, may allow us to know the great surrealist artist in personal moments with friends and family.
