With Madonna’s super concert signaling the end of the summer in late August, some thought that the party’s over. They were so wrong. Barefoot Diva takes Cyprus by storm

It comes as a cliché, but Cesária Évora perfectly fits the stereotype. She’s a diva and she performs barefoot in support of the poor of her country, and so this is exactly how she became known internationally. Now this peculiar performer who combines qualities of Edith Piaf, Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith together, comes to Cyprus for the first time to give a live concert in Larnaca’s Pattichion Amphitheatre as part of the city’s summer festival. The day is July 27 and the event will soon be sold-out. So, hurry up!
