A unique Munch display in Dublin

An exceptional exhibition that should not be missed at the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin showcases forty prints by Norway’s greatest artist, Edvard Munch (1863-1944) from 19 September until 6 December 2009. The Edvard Munch: Prints exhibition at the NGI’s Beit Wing (Rooms 6-9), is the most substantial Munch print exhibition ever presented in Ireland. It is organized by the Hunterian Museum & Art Gallery, University of Glasgow, which hosted the show for three months, until September 6.

Depeche Mode touring the Universe

The English electronic band Depeche Mode returns to Europe to continue the Tour of the Universe 2009, after a long leg in the Americas. The trek is in support of the group's 12th studio album -Sounds of the Universe, released in April 2009- and takes them to 36 cities in 17 countries (Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, UK, Hungary, Czech Republic, Norway, Russia, Poland, Croatia) from October 31, 2009 to February 27, 2010.

Massive Attack in Europe

The Massive Attack is launching a "huge" world tour to coincide with the release of their next album, tentatively titled Weather Underground, due in October on Virgin. More than 40 dates have been confirmed in the UK (Isle of Wight, London, Sheffield, Birmingham, Reading, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leicester, Swindon) and 18 countries in Europe (Ireland, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Czech. Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Italy, France Portugal, Switzerland) from September to November 2009.

Have an Electric Picnic

With a host of musical acts, performance art, spoken word, green area, the ever popular Electric Picnic Festival is sure to amuse, entertain, engross and thoroughly engage the mind, body and soul. Between Metaphor and Object

Francis Bacon's messy studio

If you believe your workplace is in a complete mess, think again. Francis Bacon’s own studio at 7 Reece Mews in South Kensington, London, where he worked for 30 years, was in an absolute chaos! You can have a glimpse of what chaos means at the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery in Dublin, which transplanted and reassembled every paintbrush and speck of dust, along with the walls and floorboards of the famed studio from London to Ireland.
